ASME Cold Pressing Ellipsoidal Head 2250×16 Cryogenic Tanker Dished Head

• Dimensions: With an inner diameter of 2250mm and a thickness of 16mm, it is specially designed for the main tank of medium-to-large cryogenic tankers, accurately adapting to the storage needs of low-temperature media such as liquid nitrogen (-196℃), liquid oxygen (-183℃) and liquefied natural gas (-162℃). High-precision CNC machining is adopted, with a diameter deviation of ≤ ±0.8mm, ensuring seamless connection with the tanker body and fundamentally reducing the risk of cold loss leakage.
• Design Basis: Developed based on the working pressure of 1.0MPa-2.0MPa of cryogenic tankers and the thermal expansion and contraction characteristics in ultra-low temperature environments, the 16mm thickness ensures the structure's resistance to low-temperature stress while avoiding material redundancy, balancing the load-bearing and lightweight requirements of the tank.
• Material Selection: ASME-certified S30408 stainless steel is selected, all from top suppliers with complete Material Test Certificates (MTC). This material contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, which can not only form a stable oxide film to resist corrosion from low-temperature media but also maintain excellent toughness in ultra-low temperature environments, completely eliminating the risk of brittle fracture.

Cold pressing is the core process of this dish head, fully complying with the requirements of ASME BPVC Sec.VIII Div 1. Aiming at the characteristics of S30408 material, the cold pressing process can avoid the damage of high temperature to the low-temperature mechanical properties of the material, completely retaining the ductility and welding stability of the dished head. In production, 12 sets of 1200-ton hydraulic presses are used for precise shaping, strictly following the 2:1 major-to-minor axis ratio, ensuring uniform stress distribution of the dished head during the transportation of low-temperature media and eliminating structural damage caused by local stress concentration.

• Full-Process Inspection: 100% full inspection is implemented for key performance indicators. Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is used to detect internal hidden cracks, Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) is used to detect surface defects, and 3D laser scanning is used to verify dimensional accuracy. Each dished head meets ASME standards and cryogenic tanker safety requirements.
• Multi-Standard Compliance: In addition to complying with ASME standards, it also meets China's GB/T 25198-2010 and Europe's PED 2014/68/EU standards, and can smoothly enter major global cryogenic transportation markets.
